The decision was taken as a way of complying with the decree of the Brasília government, which prohibited the holding of public events in the next five days as a preventive measure against coronavirus (COVID-19). Another preventive measure was the cancellation of the traditional facing ceremony, a tradition on the organization's cards. On that occasion, the athletes would come face to face, on Friday night (13), for the last time in front of the Brazilian public, before exchanging forces inside the Octagon.
