The most anticipated fight of the year will not be broadcast on open TV in Brazil. The rematch between Anderson Silva e Chael Sonnen, which takes place at UFC 148, on July 7th, in Las Vegas, will only be shown on PPV – in the country on the Combate channel.
Rede Globo, the channel that holds the broadcasting rights, tried to reach an agreement with Ultimate, but the broadcaster will only show the replay of the fight during the early hours of Saturday to Sunday, right after the “Altas Horas” program.
At UFC 146, an event held in May, Globo also announced that it would broadcast the duel Junior Gypsy x Frank mir live, but the duel was aired late. This time, the broadcaster managed to broadcast it, but makes it clear that the fight will be shown on VT
