The long-awaited rematch between Wanderlei Silva e Vitor belfort was scheduled to take place in the main fight of UFC 147, an event held last Saturday (23), in Belo Horizonte, but a fracture suffered by the athlete from Rio made Ultimate call Rich Franklin to the show.
As the North American surprised Wand and defeated the Brazilian in a unanimous decision by the judges, the organization's president, Dana White, revealed that Belfort's next fight will not be expected.
“Vitor’s next fight will not be against Wanderlei, as he lost tonight. When Vitor recovers, we’ll see what happens”, said White.
Last Thursday, Vitor belfort revealed that his return to Ultimate will be in the third edition of UFC Rio, in October, but he also has no desire to face his rival in TUF Brazil.
“I think Wanderlei fought well against Rich Franklin. But now I want to fight fights that put me on the path to the title,” said Belfort.
