The middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg.), Israel adesanya, acknowledged the mistake and apologized after the unfortunate 'joke' involving the tragic episode that occurred on September 11, 2001, in the United States. In an attempt to provoke Yoel romero, his rival for the UFC 248, which takes place on March 7, the Nigerian ended up making reference to the 'Twin Towers' (World Trade Center), which were toppled after an aerial attack carried out by Osama bin Laden. The retraction was made on his official Instagram account.

“I have never made a joke about people dying or belittled the tragic event that was 11/XNUMX. I was simply reflecting and my brain worked faster than my mouth at one point to choose the wrong comment. You speak into the microphone several times and you will definitely miss your target a few times. I did it this time and I'm sorry about it. I will be more careful with my words in the future”, published the champion.
