After a dominant performance against Katlyn chookagian and having maintained the fly belt (up to 56,7kg.) in the UFC 247, held last Saturday, Valentina Shevchenko received a long medical suspension following the event. The athlete will not perform for six months and will only be able to return to the Octagon from August onwards. The information was released by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Among the 24 athletes who performed at the UFC 247, Valentina, together with Andrew Ewell e JourneyNewson, was the combatant who had the longest deadline for a determined return.
Challenger for the flyweight title, Chookagian, who suffered a tough knockout defeat to the Kyrgyzstani, will be out until March 25th, being able to perform again after the period of inactivity granted.
Responsible for the main fight of the event, Jon Jones e Dominick reyes received a one-month suspension. The athletes who fought a real battle last weekend will be out of action until March 10, when they can schedule their next commitments with the UFC.
The fight between Jones and Reyes was marked by the hard blows delivered by both athletes, in addition to the controversial result given at the end of the confrontation. At the time, Jones won the match according to the judges' controversial opinion.
