After defeat, Cigano dispenses with rest and asks for a fight at UFC São Paulo

“They wanted me to rest, but I’m not going to rest. I will only rest when I get things right again and correct my mistakes. For me, the best option is to start another fight immediately. I wanted to fight right after my injury (in October 2019) because that's the best medicine for me. My life is good when I’m active, when I have a goal”, said Júnior.

The athlete then suggested participating in the card to be held in São Paulo, on May 9th. The show is being speculated to represent the UFC 250. For the Santa Catarina native, playing in Brazil would be special and essential to get back on the path to victory.

“I haven't fought in Brazil since I joined the UFC, so it would be great for my career to fight for my people. I can prepare for a fight in May, no problem. If they offer me something for this card, I can fight in Brazil in May”, he concluded.

Cigano last performed in front of his audience in May 2008. On that occasion, playing for 'Demo Fight', the Santa Catarina native knocked out compatriot Gerônimo dos Santos in the first round in a fight that took place in Salvador.

After the triumph, Júnior signed his contract with Ultimate and began the path that would take him to the belt, in November 2011.

Cigano is coming off two consecutive defeats in Ultimate. The athlete, who currently occupies fourth position in the category ranking. The athlete needs to win again if he hopes to become the title challenger again.
