The heavyweight (up to 120,2kg.), Augusto Sakai, is close to being made official as another Tupiniquim defending the colors of his country on the card that should represent the UFC 250, in Sao Paulo. The show takes place on May 19th and the Brazilian will exchange forces against the Bulgarian Blagoy Ivanov. The information was released by 'Combate'.

Born in Curitiba, the athlete caught the attention of the Ultimate board when he participated in 'Dana White's Contender Series', in August 2018. On that occasion, the athlete signed the contract after defeating Marcos Conrado by knockout in the second round. Just over a month later, the Brazilian would make his debut in the octagon.
Augusto, to date, has made three appearances for the UFC and emerged victorious on each occasion, one of them against the former champion of his division, Andrei Arlovski, in April last year.
Currently in 11th place in the heavyweight rankings, Blagoy will have the obligation to stop the good moment of the Brazilian, who occupies 13th place in the group. Coming from defeat to Derrick Lewis in a confrontation criticized by fans, in November 2019, by UFC 244, the Bulgarian needs to win to get back on the winning path.
At 28 years old, Sakai has 16 appearances as a professional in MMA. The fighter has 14 wins, one loss and one draw.
More experienced, Ivanov, 33, had 22 official fights in mixed martial arts. The Bulgarian won 18 victories, three setbacks and one unsuccessful fight.
The main fight of UFC Sao Paulo is not yet confirmed. Ultimate, at the moment, is working to confirm the confrontation between José Aldo e Henry Cejudo, who must face each other in the fight for the bantamweight belt (up to 61,2kg.). The fights will take place at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium.
