Carlos “Kaique” Henrique from Sergipe will make his debut in the Jungle Fight on the 31st when the show arrives in the city of Contagem, in Minas Gerais. Kaique King, as he is known in Aracaju, debuted in MMA in 2014, but will only be fighting his fourth fight. After losing in his debut and being undecided about a return to the cage, he returned to fight in 2018 and won two consecutive victories. At 27 years old, the fighter hopes to present his business card, gain visibility and take off in the sport once and for all.

“I'm very happy to fight in an event that I always wanted to participate in as an athlete. I hope to do my best to be the best in this sport. After my debut, when I ended up losing because my shoulder fell out of place, I spent some time away studying and also strengthening myself. The truth is that I was a little undecided if I wanted to become an athlete again. And I'm talking about being an athlete in general, because I had already tried to play futsal and I didn't have support or any scout that could take me to another level in the sport. Here in Aracaju it is improving now, so I still have the dream of going much further”, declared Kaique, who will face Max Gandra from Minas Gerais.

While he was undecided about returning to MMA, Kaique had the opportunity to spend time in São Paulo training at 011 MMA Team, where he met the UFC athlete Marcos Foot, former UFC Diego Brandao, veteran Flávio Álvaro, among others. That was when he returned to his city and decided it was time to return to the cage.

“I worked for a while with a formal contract at the Hospital de Urgência de Sergipe (HUSE) in the administrative area. I also worked at Unimed at reception, but no one in this country can live on minimum wage. After this period in São Paulo, I decided to return to the path of struggle. Today I make a living from fighting, I teach to support myself, and I'm looking for good opportunities as an MMA fighter”, said the native of Sergipe.

Kaique began fighting as a child at the encouragement of his father, who taught him Capoeira. But he ended up taking some time off to try to fulfill his dream of being a football player. At the age of 15, when he was still playing futsal, he was invited to participate in a Boxing project, where he also ended up learning about Muay Thai and Submission. He spent two years on the project and started training Muay Thai. At the age of 20, he gave up football and dedicated himself solely to martial arts.

“I tried to be a player until I was 20, but I ended up giving up. When I was 18 years old I did Muay Thai with a friend of mine, Master Anderson, and he introduced me to Dymitry Damianny, who asked me to be part of his team, DFC (Dimitry Fight Center). I owe a lot to him. And, of course, to my parents who always supported me. But they want me to graduate from the Physical Education college that I'm currently studying (laughs)”, concluded the tough guy.
