Erick Silva saves Brazilian night at UFC on FX 3

With four Brazilians on the fight program, only Erick managed to leave the Octagon with victory, submitting the tough Charlie Brenneman at the end of the first round. Bernardo Trekko, on the other hand, Gaius Monster and Carlos Eduardo “Tá Danado” were surpassed by Henry Martinez, Buddy Roberts and Mike Pierce, respectively.

In the main fight of the night, valid for the semifinals of the flyweight tournament, Demetrius Johnson put an end to the controversy and defeated Ian McCallque by unanimous decision from the judges. With the result, Johnson faces Joseph Benavidez in the fight for the unprecedented category title.

In his first performance outside Brazil, Erick silva He showed that he was not intimidated by the pressure and the opposing fans, who supported the American Charlie Brenneman. At the beginning of the dispute, the local fighter started at a blistering pace, trying to close the distance to take down Erick.

In turn, the Brazilian managed to defend himself well and whenever he was knocked down he managed to recover and return to striking.

Johnson beats McCall and disputes unprecedented belt
After the controversy in the first duel, when Demetrious Johnson was declared the winner, but after the scores were recalculated and Ian McCall was guaranteed a draw, the athletes faced each other again in the main fight of UFC on FX 3. And this time, Johnson made a point of dispelling any doubts.

At a fast pace, Demetrious set his pace from the start, with takedown attempts and powerful boxing strikes. At the end of the first round, Johnson scored a knockdown and had the advantage in this round.

In the second round, McCall sought recovery and worked on the same tactics as his opponent, with takedown attempts and pinning his opponent against the bars. In the third and decisive round, Demetrious came back with everything and once again regained control of the dispute to take the win in the unanimous decision of the judges (30×27, 29×28, 29×28).
