Conor McGregor He hasn't won a fight since 2016, but even with the long fast, the Irishman hasn't lost his confidence and his traditional habit of provoking his rival. Scheduled to open the season of Ultimate events in 2020, next Saturday (18), against Donald Cerrone, the Irishman guaranteed that he would beat Cowboy 'even with the flu'.

In an interview with ESPN in the USA, McGregor was asked why he moved up in weight and decided to face Cerrone at welterweight (up to 77.1 kg), as he is a former lightweight champion and the North American has a long career in the category. . The Irishman, however, said he only moved up a division because his rival doesn't perform well at 70.3 kg.
“I just don't think he looks good fighting at lightweight. He is a welterweight athlete. In fact, I would beat him in any division, even if I had the flu”, said Conor.
The Irishman also hinted that, in case of victory, he could do the superfight against Jorge masvidal by the BMF belt (The toughest son of a bitch in the UFC, in free translation).
“But I’m happy where I am, the 77kg category is exciting and I like what’s happening here at the moment. He has Jorge masvidal with this belt (“UFC’s biggest tough guy”) and there are other guys fighting for the linear belt (belonging to Kamaru Usman). So, I just want to go in there, fight and open up all my options,” he added.
Despite not having a victory in the Octagon since 2016, when he defeated Eddie Alvarez and won the lightweight belt, the Irishman guarantees that he is having a great moment in his career and promises to create 'magic in the Octagon'.
“For me, at the current moment in my life, this is the right path to follow (without causing turmoil before the fight). It's a special moment, I'm happy to come back and have Donald Cerrone as an opponent at the start of the season. I'm looking forward to this meeting. It's going to be a good night and I'm going to shine on January 18th. I will perform magic in the octagon, as I have done many times before. But this time, it’s going to be something special”, he concluded.
