"Clock is ticking. I heard you're asking to fight me again. I hope this is true. I have an early Christmas present for you. I'm willing to give you the most anticipated rematch that will happen in the history of combat sports. I hope you accept my gift. I suggest the date and location of the event. End of February, in Singapore”, wrote Vitor.
If the 'Crazy Dog' accepts the challenge, the meeting will promote a reunion between two athletes who collided more than 20 years ago. For 'Ultimate Brazil', held in 1998, the compatriots shared the octagon for a long-awaited duel between two athletes known for their aggression. The clash, however, ended as expected, but did not last as long as many would have liked.
In just 44 seconds of the fight, Belfort tried to show why he is called the 'Phenomenon', and 'ran over' Wand with a series of punches right at the beginning of the fight.
The athletes were close to fighting when they were still part of the UFC fighter group. The fight, however, ended up not happening due to an injury suffered by Vitor.
Recently, Silva once again challenged Belfort to a 'boxing without gloves' fight, for 'Bare Kunckle', but the proposal was promptly denied by Vitor on the grounds that it is no longer necessary to hold fights without protections.
Today, Vitor is 42 years old and has not acted since his setback to Lyoto Machida, in May 2018. Silva is 43 and hasn't fought in over a year, when he was beaten by Quinton jackson, in September 2018.
Fatal change? Makhachev ignores warning and could end tragically at welterweight!
