Despite the official result, which marked a split decision victory for Marlon, the president of Ultimate, Dana White, stated that he does not agree with the judges and hopes to give the 'People's Champion' the chance to challenge Henry Cejudo, by the category title.

The 'boss' went further and admitted to having received a message from the division champion, Henry Cejudo, who also expressed his opposition to the scoring of the judges' points and insisted on the 'marriage' of a clash between him and the former featherweight number one, something that had already been done a few months ago.

“He (Henry) said, 'That's bullshit. I want this fight and I will treat him as he deserves”, said Dana, leaving open the possibility of making the manauara the next challenger for the bantamweight belt.
