At the beginning of this year, Claressa admitted her desire to try mixed martial arts and sees Amanda as a great challenge to test herself in the new sport. The opportunity caught the eyes of Dana White, who sees the clash as a great possibility of putting on a great show involving the athletes.

Amanda, however, guarantees that she will not do as Conor McGregor who, in 2017, moved away from MMA and took on a challenge against boxing legend, Floyd Mayweather. Despite the millionaire figures achieved, the Irishman ended up beating by knockout.
