The suspense has come to an end. José Aldo surprised the critics and broke the limit for the bantamweight division (up to 61,2kg). The athlete, who comes down from the featherweight division (up to 65.7 kg.), had been the target of suspicions about the possibility of making weight, but he appeared smiling at the weigh-in that took place on Friday afternoon (13), weighing in at 61,6 kg. ., and guaranteed the debut in the new category. Just like the manauara, Amanda nunes confirmed his fight in UFC 245. Only Jessica Eye failed the weight cut.

Aldo was one of the first athletes to make weight this Friday. Although he has never failed to make a weight cut in Ultimate, the athlete has had difficulties reaching the featherweight limit in the past. Among the main attractions, there were no surprises. For the first title fight of the night, Amanda nunes, who is making his fifth title defense among bantamweights, confirmed 60,9kg., around 200g below the required amount. Challenging for number one, the Dutch Germain de Randamie had the same weight as the Brazilian one.
Just like in the bantamweight division, the fight for the featherweight title also showed no surprises. Both the champion and the challenger were below the limit and confirmed the co-main fight of the night. The champion, Max Holloway, checked the exact weight determined, marking 65,7kg. The challenger, Alexander Volkanovsky, you will go into combat slightly lighter. The Australian scored 65,5kg.
How could it be any different, Colby covington was responsible for the biggest suspense among the main fights of the night. The North American was the penultimate athlete to step on the scale and only went to the space dedicated to counting with just over 30 minutes remaining until the end of the measurements.
The champion, Kamaru Usman, had already confirmed 77kg. and the 'loudmouth' scored the same amount as his great rival. The main clash was then confirmed.
Only flaw
Among the 26 athletes who will perform at the UFC 245, only the North American Jessica Eye did not fulfill its commitment to the scale. The athlete was the last to present herself for counting and weighed around 2kg. above the fly limit (up to 56,7kg.).
The combatant faces the Brazilian Viviane Araujo, who fulfilled the obligation and gained 57,1kg., making use of the pound (0,454) tolerance. With the failure, Eye will have to pass on 30% of his purse to his opponent.
