If he defeats Jairzinho, Overeem does not rule out a rematch against Ngannou: 'Who knows?'

This Saturday (7), alistair overeem will be responsible for starring in another main fight for Ultimate. In confrontation against Jairzinho Rozenstruik, the 39-year-old athlete is looking for, towards the end of his career, one more victory to get closer to a title fight. If he wins, the athlete does not rule out a future rematch against Francis Ngannou, who was responsible for promoting one of the toughest knockouts of his career, in 2017. In the interview session for UFC Washington, the giant spoke about the possibility.

“Maybe (about facing Ngannou). I don't know. We will see. Could be. It could be a rematch”, said the Dutchman.

The athletes faced each other in December 2017, at UFC 218. At the time, Ngannou was fighting in his seventh fight since his debut in Ultimate. The fight was highly anticipated by the public, as it marked a duel between two excellent knockout artists.

After a tense start, Francis needed less than two minutes to show his strength and deliver a hook that exploded onto Overeem's chin, immediately knocking the Dutchman out. The scene shocked MMA fans and declared yet another victory in the French-Cameroonian's record.

Against Jairzinho, Alistair will make his second appearance in 2019. The giant comes from two consecutive victories and, against his undefeated opponent in his career, he is looking for a third to try to return to the group of the top five in the heavyweight category (up to 120,2).

Recently, the athlete confirmed that he still dreams of winning the UFC belt, stating that it would be the 'icing on the cake' of his long career.
