'Paraense Voador' returns to the octagon against Diego Sanchez at UFC Rio Rancho, in February

Michel Pereira tries to erase his last performance and has a trial by fire against an experienced athlete from the company

The Brazilian Michael Pereira, who has become known in MMA as 'Paraense Voador' will have a real test of fire in his next appearance. Needing to win to erase the poor performance in his defeat to Tristan connelly, in September, the athlete will face the veteran Diego Sanchez in one of the fights at UFC Rio Rancho, on February 15th. The information was released by the athlete on his official Instagram account.

Michel has gained worldwide fame for his irreverent way of behaving inside the Octagon. With somersaults and plastic blows, the combatant tries to surprise his opponents and emerge victorious within his presentations.

Right on his Ultimate debut, in May, at UFC Rochester, Pereira gave fans a great calling card by knocking out Danny Roberts less than two minutes into the opening round. The athlete left the Octagon greatly applauded and, in fact, left a good impression on the Brazilian fans.

The magic, however, was short-lived. After a spectacular debut, the man from Pará returned to play four months later. At the UFC Vancouver, in Canada, the fighter faced an opponent who accepted the challenge at the last minute. What seemed like a peaceful presentation ended up becoming a nightmare for the Brazilian.

Against Tristan Connely, the athlete tried to repeat the plastic performance of his debut, but ended up erring on the side of exaggeration, which cost him his breath and guaranteed his defeat by unanimous decision from the judges after three suffocating rounds.

In February, Michel will have the chance to show that he can, in fact, be a great representative of the organization's welterweights. Against Sanchez, 37 years old and with more than 30 fights in his professional career, the man from Pará will be able to redeem himself and overcome the bad impression of his last performance.

So far, UFC Rio Rancho has seven fights scheduled. The protagonists of the night will be Jan Blachowicz e Corey anderson, who will face each other for a chance to fight for the light heavyweight belt.
