It takes more than a victory to be able to challenge the light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg.), Jon Jones. After being challenged by Jan Blachowicz, after the Pole defeated the Brazilian Ronaldo Jacare in the main fight of UFC Sao Paulo, 'Bones' mocked the invitation, signaling that the athlete must prove himself further to qualify for a title fight. The statement was made on his Twitter account.

Against Jacaré, Jan had, together with the Brazilian, a disappointing confrontation that was extremely booed by the public that filled the Ibirapuera Gymnasium, last Saturday (16). The Pole didn't take any risks and ended up, after five rounds, winning the judges' split decision.

After the announcement, both Blachowicz and Jacaré left the octagon amid negative reactions from the fans.

In the press conference after the event, the Pole stated his desire to be able to face Jon, who is considered, by many, the best MMA athlete of all time. At 36 years old, Jan also said that he doesn't have much time left in his career and that the fight for the belt should be as soon as possible.

Recently, Jones expressed to his fans his dissatisfaction with the lack of real challenges within the light heavyweight division. The champion beat most of the athletes who are in the category's elite and, together with the board, finds it difficult to find an opponent who can be considered a great challenge.

It seems, Dominick reyes will be 'Bones' new opponent. At 29 years old, Reyes is undefeated in his MMA career and is coming off a dominant victory over the former middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg.), Chris Weidman, which he knocked out in the first in a fight that represented the main fight of the ufc boston.

According to himself Jon Jones, the compatriot must, in fact, be his next rival. The champion stated that, together with his coaches, he chose Dominick over Corey anderson, who recently defeated Johnny Walker, UFC 244.

Jan, then, will have to wait for the confirmation and realization of the confrontation between Jones and Reyes, which should take place in early 2020.

'Bones' had its last engagement in July this year, at UFC 239. On that occasion, the athlete defended his title in a confrontation against the Brazilian Thiago Marreta. The event marked the biggest challenge of Jon's career, which he won in a split decision from the judges.
