Since signing a contract to participate in the UFC Sao Paulo, que acontece neste sábado (16), Ariane Lipski teve três grandes imprevistos em relação às suas adversárias. Com duas substituições de oponentes, a atleta, que busca a primeira vitória desde que integrou o grupo de atletas do Ultimate, quer mostrar suas armas e provar que tem um grande futuro dentro da organização. Em entrevista exclusiva ao SUPER FIGHTS/MMA Press, the athlete spoke about the unforeseen events and expectations for her performance this weekend.

“Changing opponents at the last minute is never a good thing, but it doesn't change much for me because, as I said, I focused on my game, on everything I have to do in the Octagon, not on my opponent. Some details change and we must always be aware of that, but I'm ready to have a great fight on Saturday,” said Lipski.

Until Thursday night (15), Ariane was scheduled to face Veronica macedo, which replaced Priscila Pedrita, withdrawn from her card after being caught in an anti-doping test. Macedo, however, fell ill in the early hours of this Friday (15) and was also excluded from the event.

Ultimate acted quickly again and chose Isabela de Pádua to fulfill the challenge of facing Ariane. However, the new rival, with little preparation time, was unable to reach the fly limit at the official weigh-in, which took place on Friday morning. As a result, Lipski, who might not have accepted the duel, ended up accepting the challenge of facing an opponent who weighed 2kg. above what is permitted.

Before joining the UFC, Ariane was in a spectacular phase in her career. The Curitiba native was on a run of nine consecutive victories. However, since she debuted for the company in January, in two commitments, the Brazilian has not managed to achieve a positive result.

Asked why the performances weren't what she expected, Lipski assured that she made changes to return to being the fighter she was before.

“I made small changes to my training. I focused more on my qualities, on my game, not on my opponent's. I think I left that a little aside in the fights I had for the UFC. I forgot my aggressive game a little, and on Saturday it will come back,” she said.

Ariane also said that she had good preparation for the São Paulo card. The weight cut took place calmly and the fighter is ready to perform in front of the public that will be present at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium.

“I'm fine, I did excellent preparation. I trained hard and without injuries, and now I’m ready to have a great performance,” she said.

Against Isabela, Ariane will be able to show the Brazilian public her strongest points and, despite not defining the way she would like to win, she promised to be aggressive against her rival.

“The preferred way is for it to be in my style, in the “Violence Queen” style. That’s what I want most on Saturday”, concluded Ariane.

At 25 years old, the Curitiba native has made 16 appearances, with 11 triumphs in her professional record. His debut as an MMA athlete took place in 2013, at the age of 19.

Lipski's rival for this weekend, Pádua, 28 years old, has six fights and five wins in his career.
