When he suggested that he might give up the sport for good, the athlete published, in an energetic tone, after the president of Ultimate, Dana White, ruled out an immediate rematch between Nate and Jorge masvidal. They recently faced each other in a fight valid for a symbolic title created exclusively for the UFC 244, which took place on November 2nd.

In a press conference after the show at the beginning of the month, the president stated that a reunion between the protagonists of the event did not interest him at the moment. The fact irritated Nate, who stated, shortly after, that a rematch would be a matter of justice with him, who has already performed exciting fights for the company, such as the fights against Conor McGregor in 2016.
