The welterweight (up to 77kg.)  Jorge masvidal experienced the biggest night of his career after headlining one of the biggest events of the year, last Saturday (2), at UFC 244, together with Nate diaz. Despite performing well, the confrontation did not have the expected ending. Diaz was prevented from continuing the fight after suffering a deep cut on his right eyebrow. Jorge's great performance, however, was not enough to make the athlete move up any position in the rankings of his division.

Jorge entered the Octagon this weekend boasting third place in the welterweight rankings, which are currently dominated by Kamaru Usman. Even though it did not change its position in the group, the main focus of the confrontation was not a dispute for the best place, but for a symbolic belt created by Ultimate especially for the UFC 244.

With no title fight in a numbered event, it was up to the 'bad boys' to take over the show. In addition to a unique title, there was the presence of 'The Rock', the champions Israel adesanya e Kamaru Usman and even the President of the United States, Donald Trump. As a spectacle, the balance was positive.

Back in the real world, the setback for Jorge was not at all positive for Diaz. In addition to not winning the title of 'Toughest Son of a Mother in the Game', the North American ended up falling two positions in the ranking, being overtaken by Stephen Thompson and Santiago Ponzinnibio.

Lost but won
