“We have different styles, but we are two changers. He has a style of someone who moves more. Likes to counter punch. There are these kicks, the spinning one too. I'm into kickboxing, Muay Thai, I'm more into moving forward. A more traditional style, of putting pressure and trying to knock out all the time”, said the athlete.

To emerge victorious, Vicente will be able to rely on Thompson's bad form. The North American has had two consecutive defeats, and only one victory in his last five appearances. 'Wonderboy', who has competed for the division title on two occasions (2016 and 2017), last won in November 2017, when he defeated Jorge masvidal at UFC 217.

Even with the notion that his opponent is not going through a good phase, the Brazilian made a point of affirming his desire and respect for exchanging forces against Stephen.

“I asked for this fight after my last fight against (Mike) Perry (UFC Uruguay), and it was a fight that, for me, would make a lot of sense. Because of the styles and also because he's a top 10 fighter. And I always want to get someone from the top 10 and he's already challenged for the belt twice. He had very tough fights with (Tyron) Woodley. So he's the kind of name I need to face right now. I think that if I get a victory over him I will position myself very well in the category”, concluded the Brasilia native.

Luque is at a great stage in his career. With each performance, the athlete shows himself to be a serious candidate to compete in big fights at the top of the category. Currently in 14th position, the Brazilian has six consecutive victories. His last defeat came in March 2017, when he was beaten by Leon edwards.

At 27 years old, Vicente has 23 fights as a professional, with 17 wins, six setbacks and one draw.
