Bantamweight (up to 61,2kg.) John Lineker won on his debut for ONE FC. Dismissed by Ultimtate in July this year, Brazilian has triumph over Muin Gafurov at the event that took place this Friday morning (25), in Indonesia.

Just three months after having his contract with the UFC terminated, Brazilian John Lineker showed his ONE calling card by defeating Gufarov in a unanimous decision by the judges. The duel marked one of the main presentations of One Championship Dawn of Valor.
After seven years playing for Ultimate, the Brazilian found himself in a complicated situation with his former contractor. Known for his aggressiveness against his opponents, the athlete even criticized the company for the lack of scheduled commitments. The combatant claimed that he was rarely scheduled to carry out clashes for the organization and, after a public statement, he ended up being dismissed.
Knowing that the Paraná native was free on the market, ONE acted quickly and formalized the contract for the fighter to join the company's group of athletes. John followed the path of other fighters in leaving Ultimate and moving to competition.
Just like Lineker, Sage NorthcuttEddie Alvarez Demetrious Johnson and the legendary Vitor belfort also suffered the same fate.
After this Friday's triumph, John begins his journey to try to win the company's belt, which today belongs to Bibiano Fernandez, owner of the organization's record for title defenses.
At just 29 years old, John, who began his MMA cycle in September 2008, has already made 41 appearances in his career as a professional athlete. In total, 32 wins and nine defeats in his career in the sport.
