Kickboxer Guto Inocente is one of the main attractions of the KHK World Championship, a one-night tournament, with no weight limit, that will rock BRAVE CF 29, an event taking place in Bahrain, on November 15th. The Brazilian was drawn along with four other names and could win a place in the semi-finals of the competition, in which athletes will have to win two fights on the same night to win the title.
Guto joins the Frenchman Malik Merad, the Russian Azamat Murzakanov, Mohammed Fakhreddine, from Lebanon, and Moise Rimbon, from Guadeloupe. One of the five athletes will be a reserve, while the other four will make the semi-finals (in the first two fights of BRAVE CF 29) and the final (in the last fight of the show).
The winner of the tournament will receive a check for US$100 (around R$405 at current exchange rates), in addition to the right to become the provisional holder of the KHK belt, which is the award with the most gold in the history of sport – he It is adorned with 6.2 kg of gold. To gain definitive possession of the historic belt, the athlete has to win the tournament three times, just as was done with the first World Cup trophy, the Jules Rimet cup.
The first edition of the KHK World Championships will take place during a historic week for world MMA. The tournament will be part of BRAVE International Combat Week, which in addition to BRAVE CF 29, will also feature the IMMAF World Amateur Championship, considered the MMA Olympics.
On November 15th, Inocente could become the second Brazilian world champion. All it takes is for Marcel Adur to beat Jose Torres in the co-main fight, in a flyweight title fight. In addition to Adur, Guto will be able to join four other Brazilians. Former BRAVE CF lightweight champion, Luan Santiago faces Gadzhimusa Gaziev in the super lightweight division. His teammate Felipe Silva is looking to qualify for the lightweight title fight against Guram Kutateladze, while Luana pinheiro and Erick “Índio Brabo” face Helen Harper and Akhmed Magomedov, respectively.
