However, recently, something changed and the athlete finds himself in a delicate situation in his career after suffering three consecutive defeats, the worst series of his career. Aware of the bad moment, the athlete, who comes from a recent and controversial setback for Nicholas Dalby, in September, asked to fight on another occasion in 2019. The request was made in an interview with 'Combate'.

“I want to fight this year. If I could fight him (Dalby) again, I would like to show that this defeat wasn't like that. The fight was mine. I want to keep my head on straight and just fight. If you go against him, even better. I have to wait for the UFC. I'm training, I didn't get hurt, I'm in one piece, my mind is firm. Life goes on”, said the fighter.
In the aforementioned episode against Nicolas, at UFC Copenhagen, the fighter refers to a moment in which he dominated the fight on the ground, with a visible advantage, when the referee of the fight, Rebin Saber, interrupted the advantage and made the fight return to the feet. . The episode harmed the Tupiniquim team in the duel and ended up directly influencing the result.
“Everyone saw it, I don’t even need to say anything. You made a mistake, okay, life goes on. I could have let the fight go, I was on top. He said there was no action, he ordered it to be lifted. I don't need to say anything more, everyone saw it. It happened, it’s okay”, declared the athlete.
In May of this year, the Trirriense native ended up in the police pages after getting involved in personal problems with his partner. At the time, the fighter was accused of carrying his newborn son on a motorcycle after an argument with his partner. The fighter stated that the controversies involving his person may have negatively influenced his career, but he guarantees that he is back on the right path.
“It’s something I want to keep to myself. Everyone goes through this phase, unfortunately, I'm going through it. Every athlete has a bad phase. When we are getting things right, some things happen in life, particularly, that are badass. I want this phase to pass soon. The year 2019 was not good for me. I've already changed a lot of things, things that made me comfortable. I'm doing it right. I'm at home with my family, training properly, focused”, concluded the Brazilian.
Cowboy, who debuted for Ultimate in 2015, is currently 31 years old. In his professional record, the athlete has already had 27 fights, with 19 wins and eight losses. The fighter's last triumph came more than a year ago, when Alex beat Carlo Pedersoli in the co-main fight of the UFC Sao Paulo.
