This week's biggest attraction in the world of MMA will certainly be the challenge between Robert whittaker e Israel adesanya, for the unification of the middleweight title (up to 83,9kg.). However, one specific topic has escaped the main agenda. During the days preceding the UFC 243, the Nigerian declared his desire to face the light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg.), Jon Jones and the information did not reach the Ultimate legend's ears well. In response, the American tried to impose himself on Israel with strong statements. The words were written on Jones' official Twitter account.

The American also showed irritation when commenting on the fact that Israel said he watched Jones' last duel (against Thiago Marreta) and confirmed that the champion is no longer the same as he was a while ago. In response, Jon tried to give his opinion on the matter.
“You said you saw me fight in person against Thiago (Marreta) and that I didn't look the same,” said Jones, also remembering Adesanya's last fight, when the athlete found it difficult at times to withstand the pressure of Kelvin Gastelum.

Finally, Jon ended his comments with a catchphrase intended to intimidate the Nigerian.

Since he beat the Brazilian Thiago Marreta, UFC 239, in July, Ultimate works to find a new opponent for 'Bones'. The athlete has already defeated most of his opponents at the top of the category. One possibility studied was the champion's migration to heavyweight. At the time, a third fight against Daniel Cormier, Jones' eternal rival, former light heavyweight champion and who, at the time, wore the heavyweight belt.
DC's defeat to Miocic at UFC 241, however, ended up frustrating the organization's plans, which went back to square one to look for the possibilities of a duel for one of its biggest stars.
