Jared Cannonier did it once again. After frustrating the Brazilian fans in the UFC 237, in Rio de Janeiro, in May, when he defeated Anderson Silva, the North American silenced the Nordic public who filled the Royal Arena to cheer for Jack hermansson in the main fight of UFC Copenhagen. He achieved victory at the beginning of the second round with a devastating knockout.

Still in the octagon, with the crowd silent due to the Nordic idol's setback, Cannonier thanked the Danish fans for having given him a much better reception than he received from the Brazilians. After beating Anderson, he was heavily booed during his interview.
With the result, Cannonier, who occupies ninth place in the middleweight rankings (up to 83,9 kg.) should move up in the rankings and get closer to the top 5 in the category. On the other hand, Hermansson, who was fifth in the rankings, loses a streak of four wins and moves away from his chance at the belt.
The fight
The fight started with Jack hermansson clearly wanting to avoid an open fight with Jared Cannonier. The Swede looked for a takedown at the beginning of the fight and even managed it on two occasions, however the North American was agile and got off the ground well. In one of the attacks, Hermansson reached the back, but lost his position afterwards. From the middle of the partial, Cannonier remained standing and connected the best blows.
At the beginning of the second round, Hermansson quickly attacked his legs in search of a takedown, but Cannonier made the save and with a right cross took the Swede to the ground. The North American still struck a few times on top until the referee ended the dispute and declared a technical knockout.
