The former light heavyweight champion will be in action at UFC Sao Paulo, an event that takes place on November 16th, in the capital of São Paulo. He faces the North American Sam alvey on the main card of the attraction. The announcement of the duel was reported by Canadian journalist Ariel Helwani.

Shogun, who has a professional record of 26 wins and 11 losses, last fought in December 2018 when he defeated Tyson Peter at UFC Adelaide. The 38-year-old from Paraná is enjoying a good moment and has won four of his last five fights, but due to his inactivity – he has only had five fights since 2015 – he only occupies 14th place in the light heavyweight rankings.
On the other hand, Alvey has a record of 33 wins and 13 losses, he is not going through a good moment in his career. The North American comes from three consecutive losses. In his last performance, in July of this year, he was defeated by another Brazilian: Klidson Abreu, in the unanimous decision of the judges.
