The Brazilian Amanda nunes, champion of bantamweight (up to 62,7kg.) and featherweight (up to 65,7kg.) of Ultimate, may receive a strong rival in the near future. Claressa shields, undefeated world boxing champion and Olympic medalist, said she intends to try her luck in MMA and is aiming for a fight against the Bahian. “I work very hard. I am dedicated to my plans. I eat right, I don't drink, I don't smoke. When you have an athlete like that, and at a young age, you can achieve anything. I already have plans to start training. I already talked to an MMA teacher. Things are getting serious really fast,” Shields said.

Dana White, who is already starting to find it difficult to find opponents who can stand up to Amanda nunes, has already publicly declared that he would like to promote a meeting between Claressa and the 'Lione'. The Brazilian, with each commitment, has shown that she deserves her titles and that she can be considered the greatest athlete in the history of women's MMA.

“It would be an interesting fight. I’m in,” Dana said.

Shields, however, showed that he has his feet on the ground in relation to his ambitions in mixed martial arts. According to the American, she needs to perform a few duels beforehand so she can reach the level of Nunes, who has been fighting since 2008. The Olympic champion, however, doesn't seem to be in a big hurry, after all, the athlete is still 24 years old. .

“I would like to schedule some fights beforehand and build my way up to the fight against Amanda”, concluded Shields.

The boxer is scheduled for October 5th, when she will face Croatian Ivana Habazin. If she wins, the athlete will become champion in three different categories.

Just like the North American, Amanda nunes has a fight scheduled for the end of the year. The athlete tops the card UFC 245, on December 14, when he defends his bantamweight belt for the sixth time.

A case that could spice up a possible rivalry created between the athletes is the fact that Shields has already helped Chris Cyborg, defeated by 'Leoa' in December last year, which resulted in the Curitiba native losing her featherweight belt in the past.
