American Chuck Liddell is considered one of the greatest MMA legends of all time. Known for his race and aggressiveness in his confrontations, the athlete, who has already held the title of light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg.) of the Ultimate, surprised by suggesting that he could take a risk as a professional in Luta Livre (Telecatch). The information was disclosed in a recent interview with 'ComickBook.com'.

“I used to hang out with Shan McMahon (one of the partners in WWE, the North American wrestling company) from time to time and he said that if at any point I was seriously interested in getting into wrestling, to look him up, and we would talk,” said Chuck.

The athlete also commented that he loves being in a real fight, but has deep respect for the possible new sport. After all, in WWE, despite there being no imminent contact with serious injuries, accurate technical knowledge is still necessary to avoid being injured.

“I love fighting and being in a real confrontation. I mean, I have nothing against WWE. I wouldn't mind doing that too. It's just acting here and there. Those guys do impressive things in the ring. It's all acting, but it's not easy”, declared the 'Iceman'.

Liddel, however, stated that one of his concerns would be the fact of placing his physical integrity in the hands of a co-star. In wrestling, athletes jump, throw plastic blows, use accessories to attack such as chairs, clubs, ladders and the like. For the former UFC champion, this can be a little scary.

“One of the things I've always had with this sport is also the difference between my sport and their stuff. See, you're trusting the other guy not to get hurt. Giving your body to him. Like, play along and hope he doesn't hurt you. In my sport, I am responsible for you not to hurt me. I like having responsibility on my side, not yours”, concluded the athlete.

Chuck is one of the pioneers of what is known today as MMA. The athlete began his career in mixed martial arts in 1998. The peak of his career took place between 2004 and 2006, when the North American was considered one of the most feared fighters in Ultimate. The 'Iceman' bore the title, which today belongs to Jon Jones, between 2005 and 2007, when he was defeated by Quinton jackson.

Liddell retired in 2010 after suffering a run of three consecutive defeats. However, last year, Chuck decided to put on the gloves again and re-edit a confrontation against Tito Ortiz, against whom he had fought on two occasions – and won. In 2018, at the age of 49, the former champion showed that his physical shape was not the same and ended up defeated in the first round by knockout.
