After beating Romero, Borrachinha claims he is the most dangerous athlete in the middleweight division

The Brazilian Paulo borrachinha lives one of the most special moments of his career. After finally carrying out the long-awaited fight against Yoel romero, at UFC 241, in August, the athlete stated that the victory over his rival put him in the position of best fighter in the middleweight division (up to 83,9 kg.). The statement was made in an interview with 'BJPenn.com'. According to UFC management, the Minas Gerais native is the next challenger for the category title.

After the triumph, the company's president, Dana White, confirmed the Brazilian as the next challenger for the category belt. The miner was left with the tough mission of facing the winner of the fight between Robert whittaker e Israel adesanya, who are fighting for the unification of the belt. The meeting between the Australian and the Nigerian will take place on October 5th, in the main fight of the UFC 243.

Borrachinha has already guaranteed his presence at the event, which will take place in Melbourne, Australia. The Brazilian's presence will be extremely important to guarantee, right from the start, the promotion of the fight that will probably take place next year.

“I’m certainly going to chase that belt. I'm going to Australia (UFC 243) just to see who I'm going to fight. The next champion will wear the belt for a short period after the fight,” said Paulo, inferring that he will take the title from the winner between Israel and Robert.

The triumph over Romero, last month, not only guaranteed Paulo the right to fight for the belt, but also increased the number of fights in his career to 13, in addition to maintaining the fighter's unbeaten record.

Of all 13 of Borrachinha's victories, 11 ended in knockout, one by submission and only the last, against Yoel, went to the judges' decision.
