Coming from a defeat at middleweight (up to 83.9 kg.), Ronaldo Jacare will try to fight for the belt in another category. The black belt moved up to light heavyweight (up to 93 kg.) and will face a top 5 in the division on his debut. He will face the Polish Jan Blachowicz in the main fight of UFC Sao Paulo, an event that takes place on November 16th, in the capital of São Paulo.
Jacaré, who has a record of 26 wins and seven losses. occupies sixth place in the middleweight rankings, but moves up a division in search of his dream shot at the title after 'hitting the post' four times. In his last fight, in UFC Fort Lauderdale, in April this year, he was defeated Jack hermansson in the decision. The triumph, according to the franchise's president, Dana White, would give the man from Manaus the chance to fight for the belt.

Before the setback to the Dane, Jacaré had already had three other opportunities to guarantee the fight for the belt, but lost in close decisions – and contested by him – to Yoel romero, Kelvin Gastelum and was surprised by Robert whittaker when he was knocked out by the current champion.
In turn, Blachowicz has a record of 24 wins and eight losses. The Pole, fifth in the light heavyweight rankings, is coming off a great triumph, when he knocked out the former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold No. UFC 239, in July. He has won five of his last six fights. The only setback was precisely for a Brazilian: Thiago Marreta he beat him by knockout, in February this year, in the main fight of UFC Prague, in the Czech Republic.
