Coming off six consecutive victories in the Octagon, Vincent Luque will face the biggest challenge of his career in UFC 244, an event that takes place on November 2nd, in New York (USA). The Brasilia native will face off against the former number one welterweight (up to 77.1 kg.) Stephen Thompson. The news of the fight was released by the website “Newsday”.

Luque, who has a professional record of 17 wins, six losses and one draw, is ranked 14th in the welterweight rankings. In his last fight, the Brazilian defeated Mike Perry, at UFC Montevideo, in August. On that occasion, after the triumph, he asked for a duel against Thompson and had his request granted.
In turn, Thomspon has a record of 14 wins, four losses and one draw. The North American, known for his karate skills, is not going through a good moment in his career. He has lost three of his last four appearances. The North American, 9th in the category standings, competed for the division's belt on two occasions. In the first, at UFC 205, in November 2016, he drew with Tyron woodley. In the second meeting, he was outperformed by the judges' majority decision.
