Before the event this weekend, Vieira had four submissions in his last five fights. In the week preceding the Uruguayan card, the Rio native made no secret of his strategy that he would try to win by submission as quickly as possible.

His opponent, Oskar Piechota, 29 years old, was trying to recover from the first defeat of his career, which occurred in July last year, when he faced Gerald meerschaert, and was also beaten by submission. The Pole, after the setback, now has two defeats and 11 wins on his professional record.

The fight

Rodolfo started the fight by taking the initiative with a jab, which hit his opponent. Being cautious, the athlete kept an eye on Oskar's movement. Once again the Brazilian managed to hit his opponent with a punch. After the attack, Vieira tried for the first time to take his opponent to the ground. The Pole defended himself and responded with a good combination of punches. Halfway through the round, the Rio native managed to take down his opponent and started working to try to finish the fight. Piechota managed to defend himself from the Brazilian, but Vieira didn't give up. At the end of the stage, Oskar managed to get up, but there was no more time.

In the second round, the Pole started taking the initiative and trying to punch the Brazilian in the face. Vieira was waiting for the right opportunity to take down his opponent, who was trying not to give Rodolfo any opportunities to use his jiu-jitsu. After two minutes, the Rio native got the takedown near the center of the octagon and tried again to finish. Oskar, however, exploded and managed to get up. With the fight strategy on the ground, the Brazilian once again took down Piechota and started to score in the fight by throwing good punches to Oskar's face. After finding a space, Rodolfo managed to fit in a katagatame and forced the Pole to give up.
