Brazilian duel between Deiveson and Pantoja is voted 'Fight of the Night' at UFC 240

Compatriots receive US$50 for their performance in the third fight on the preliminary card, which raised the audience with a great spectacle; Hakeen Dawodu and Geoff Neal win performance award

Among the 22 athletes who faced each other at UFC 240, held this Saturday (27), in Edmonton (CAN), two have reasons to smile. The Brazilians Deiveson Figueiredo and Alenxandre Pantoja were given bonuses by the Ultimate board after being elected as the representatives of the best match of the event. Each will receive US$50 (around R$189). The announcement was made on the organization's official Twitter account after the show. In addition to Brazilian athletes, Hakeen Dawodu and Geoff neal They will also leave Canada with a deep pocket for having been chosen as best performers.

The duel between Deiveson and Pantoja has already been highly anticipated by MMA fans, as they are two high-level athletes. The two are part of the elite in the flyweight category (up to 56,7kg) and, after the fight, aimed to achieve the status of being able to challenge the current champion, Henry Cejudo, in the future. In the fight, Dawodu achieved one of the three knockouts at UFC 240. After showing a lot of resistance, Horie, four minutes into the third round, succumbed to Hakeen's strength and was prevented from continuing fighting by the match referee.

In a duel between North Americans held in Canada, Geoff neal He once again made a great performance for the UFC and ended up receiving bonuses for his performance. In a clash against Niko Price, Neal managed to defeat his opponent by knockout, representing the third fight on the main card. The triumph over Price represented Geoff's sixth in a row, and the 12th of the American's career. With another good performance, Neal will now seek to face elite welterweight athletes (up to 77kg.) which, today, has the Nigerian Kamaru Usman as champion.
