Dana White talks about Jon Jones' new controversy: “Every time he fights, I imagine it will be the last”

UFC President comments on light heavyweight's alleged attack on waitress, but elevates MMA protégé's qualities

UFC president, Dana White, commented on the latest controversy involving the UFC light heavyweight (up to 93 kg.) champion, Jon Jones. The agent reported that you never know what will happen in Jones' career after each commitment is fulfilled. The statement was made in a recent interview with a group of journalists.

“Every time we cause a duel involving Jon Jones, I imagine that could be his last fight. It has nothing to do with money. That's what he does outside the Octagon. He’s in trouble,” Dana said.

The Ultimate leader, however, made a point of talking about the qualities of the North American, whom he considers a legend of the sport. For White, Jones is capable of doing, inside the octagon, what few come close to.

“If you look at what he's been through in the last seven or eight years, and see him come into the Octagon and do what he does, you notice. He just faced Thiago (Marreta), who is a great fighter, and won. When he goes in to fight, you never know what's going to happen. It’s unbelievable how good he is,” commented the president.

Jon Jones He has already been involved in controversies related to the consumption of drugs, performance-enhancing substances and, more recently, the fighter was accused of harassing a waitress in an adult nightclub. Regarding the case, White preferred not to delve deeper and just let justice deal with what happened.

“There are two sides to the story and the truth is hidden in between. I'm sure”, commented the 'boss'.

'Bones' last fought at the beginning of July this year, when he shared the octagon with the Brazilian Thiago Marreta. On that occasion, the athletes had a very balanced fight in the fight for the light heavyweight belt. After five rounds, the North American was declared the winner by a split decision from the judges.
