Bantamweight (up to 61,2kg.) John Lineker could debut for ONE FC in October. The organization analyzes the possibility of the Paraná native debuting for the 'new home' against Muin Gafurov, on October 25, in Indonesia. The information was released by 'Tass.ru' reporter, Igor Lazarin. Lineker signed with ONE after being released by Ultimate in early July.

John was an employee of the UFC for more than seven years and, this year, he began to conflict with the company, claiming that the organization did not make an effort to schedule him to fight. At the end of May, the fighter publicly criticized Ultimate and asked for more opportunities to fight. At the time, the athlete complained that he had only had four fights since 2016, while other fighters were always active. In the same speech, the man from Paraná requested that, if his work was not satisfactory, he be released to sign a contract with another company.

In the UFC, 'Mão de Pedra' had 16 fights, winning 12 times. Known for his aggressiveness, the athlete found it difficult to find opponents who would agree to share the octagon. The fighter even signed a contract to face Rob font, at UFC Greenville, which took place on June 22. However, a cut on his eyebrow during the week of the fight took the Brazilian off the card.

Lineker's possible opponent at ONE, Muin Gafurov, 23 years old, will have his second fight for the company. Even though he is young, the athlete from Tajikistan already has some experience in mixed martial arts. In 17 fights, the fighter has already won 15 victories in his career and was defeated on two occasions.

Recently, some athletes who belonged to Ultimate migrated to ONE FC, as is the case of the former lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg), Eddie Alvarez, Dana White's former pupil, Sage Northcutt and the legendary Demetrious Johnson, champion, former holder of the flyweight title (up to 56,7kg.) and owner of the company's belt defense record (11). The latter was involved in the swap with Ben Askren.
