Phil Baroni defends Overeem and says he is against doping tests

Amidst several doping cases in MMA, American Phil Baroni gave a controversial opinion on the case. The fighter, who has played for Pride and UFC, stated that he is against anti-doping tests and that athletes should use any type of substances during their fights. In an interview with the North American website MMA Mania, Baroni said that he is in favor of using marijuana or even steroids before fights.

“I want to see the best fighters, I want to see who is the best and strongest. Wrestlers should be able to do whatever they want to become the strongest. Being kicked in the face is very bad for you, worse than the effects of marijuana and steroids”, said Baroni, who defended alistair overeem, recently caught in an anti-doping test for having too much testosterone in his body.

“I don't care which fighter is the cleanest, I want to see who is the strongest, the fastest. I don't want to know who's better at passing a drug test. Overeem is not the only guy ingesting substances, he just got caught, I want to see the most sinister guys,” he said.

Baroni praised the extinct Pride, a Japanese event that did not do doping tests, where Wanderlei Silva He fought in the light heavyweight category – Wand currently fights in the middleweight division – and was champion. “That's why Pride was the best event, I want to see the Wanderlei Silva in the light heavyweights, killing the guys”, concluded Baroni.

Fatal change? Makhachev ignores warning and could end tragically at welterweight!
