The former bantamweight champion, Holly holm, spoke for the first time after his defeat to Amanda nunes No. UFC 239, last Saturday (6), in a fight valid for the category title. On that occasion, the 'Pastor's Daughter' was surprised by a high kick from the 'Leoa', which took her to the ground and was subsequently knocked out. In a video published on her official Instagram account, the American spoke briefly about her thoughts on the fight and reassured fans about her health condition. After the new setback, the athlete recorded her third negative result in her last five appearances.

“I always say that I live a dream, but I never dreamed of being kicked in the face. That’s never part of my dream,” said Holm. “This is like the nightmare part. I'm living a little nightmare, waking up every morning and thinking, 'Yes, this is real. This just happened'”, said the American.

Even with her negative thoughts, the fighter tried to reassure her followers about her physical condition. In the same video, Holm stated that she is doing well and that she intends to continue her career.

“I want you to know that I'm feeling good and I know one thing: I'm still active”, said the blonde. I'm heartbroken right now, but I'm okay. I just wanted to let you know that I am so grateful for your love and support. And if you want free lip fillers, just get kicked in the face,” Holly joked when referring to a cut in her mouth, the result of the fatal blow delivered by Amanda nunes.

Holm's statement about continuing his career contradicts the statement made by the organization's president, Dana White, who, in an interview after the UFC 239, stated that the American should rethink continuing her career after losing the title fight.

At 37 years old, the athlete achieved worldwide fame by shocking the world when she beat the, until then, unquestionable Ronda Rousey in contention for the bantamweight belt in 2015. Holly's career, however, went into decline when she was defeated by Miesha Tate in his first title defense, in 2016. At that time, Holm had three consecutive defeats within Ultimate.

In her record as an MMA professional, the 'Pastor's Daughter' has 15 fights, 11 wins and four losses.
