Frankie Edgar says fight with José Aldo will happen in the future

After losing the UFC lightweight belt to Ben henderson in February, Frankie Edgar He began to hear recommendations from all sides that he move down to challenge the featherweight champion José Aldo.

Edgar protested. He said he would grant immediate rematches to B.J. Penn e Gray Maynard, which is why he considered it fair that he received it too, as the now former champion always said that the defeat to Henderson was too close.

Finally, the UFC gave in and confirmed the rematch between Ben henderson e Frankie Edgar. This ended speculation of a confrontation between Edgar and Aldo. But, according to the former champion, not definitively:

“I want to have big fights and face the best guys. José Aldo is one of them. We will see this fight, no matter if it will be in the featherweight or lightweight division.”

José Aldo was confirmed in card of UFC 149, which will be held in the Canadian city of Calgary, but no opponent has yet been defined. On the other hand, the UFC also did not confirm a date for the second meeting between Henderson and Edgar.
