Known for powerful fists, Brian stann collects knockout victories in his career. Last Saturday, at UFC On FUEL TV 2, the Italian Alessio sakara added to the list of victims of the former US Marine captain.

As always, very respectful towards his opponents, Stann explained to the American website MMAjunkie why he stopped hitting when he was dominating his opponent in the ground and pound.

“I hit him with a short, quick elbow. I hit the bone above his right eye and my elbow sank into his eye. I heard him say something in Italian. That moment when he said something was exactly when I hit him twice. I saw he blacked out for a second. His legs were wrapped around me, so I could feel his muscles soften. My instincts immediately told me that guy wasn't there anymore. I really respect Sakara. I could feel he was finished, so I looked at the referee for help.”

Stann, who was coming off a defeat to Chael Sonnen at UFC 136, he now has four wins and one loss since moving down to the middleweight division. With a total record of 12-4, the athlete from Greg Jackson's team said that he now wants to face better ranked fighters to climb back up the division.

He is an honorable man, an attitude worthy of a samurai.

Brian Stann won not only the fight but also a lot of respect, at least from me. As one of my professors commented, have you ever wondered if Jhonn Jones has the same attitude in the fight with Machida, when he sees that he's gone, he doesn't leave the guy on the ground but he lowers him carefully so he doesn't break himself any more than he already was. The person who would benefit from this would be Jones himself, but the guy came with that arrogant attitude and only went to greet the fainted man because the coach told him to. Congratulations to Brian Stann and the site for the article.
