The Brazilian Chris Cyborg is back in the octagons. Almost five months after losing the feather belt (up to 65,7kg.) to Amanda nunes, the fighter has a scheduled fight against Felicia spencer at UFC 240, in Canada. The information was released by 'ESPN'. So far, the athletes' clash represents the co-main fight of the event.

Days after the former Invicta FC champion, Felicia spencer, declaring that she wanted to face the Brazilian, but not in such a short period of time, Ultimate moved and managed to convince the Canadian to share the octagon with the female MMA legend.

'ESPN' journalist, Brett Okamoto, was one of the first to publish on his Twitter account the announcement that negotiations are practically closed.

“The UFC is finalizing negotiations for Cyborg Justino’s next fight against the former Invicta FC champion, Felicia spencer, says (UFC) president Dana White to 'ESPN'. Co-main event of UFC 240 on July 27th in Edmonton (Canada)”, published Okamoto.

The UFC's official website and social media have not yet confirmed the meeting between the fighters, however, everything suggests that the fight will, in fact, take place.

Cyborg asked for the fight against Spencer right after the Canadian defeated the former Invicta champion at UFC Rochester. On the occasion, the Curitiba native took to social media to challenge the athlete in a fight that would take place in Felícia's home country, Canada.

If confirmed, the two will perform before the main fight of the night, which will be held by Max Holloway against Frankie Edgar, in a duel that represents the fight for the featherweight belt between the two.

This, in theory, will be one of the toughest challenges of Cris’ career. The Brazilian will face an undefeated athlete with an impeccable record so far. Felicia, 28 years old, has a record of seven fights, with four wins by submission, one by knockout and two by unanimous decision by the judges.

Cyborg, in turn, more experienced, at 33 years old, has 23 fights in his list, with 20 wins, two losses and one duel without result; in 2011, the Curitiba native won the fight against the Japanese Hiroko yamanaka, however, was caught in an anti-doping test and the result of the fight was changed.

If she wins, the Brazilian will be able to once again dream of recovering the belt she lost in December last year, at UFC 232. The current featherweight champion, Amanda nunes, who also holds the bantamweight title (up to 61,2kg.), has a commitment scheduled against Holly holm for the sixth of July, in UFC 239. The compatriot has already stated that she wants to give Cyborg a rematch before officially retiring from the octagons.
