You know I’ve already shown everyone how good I am”, commented the fighter. “I think that with a big win, this fight will boost me and I will return to the best in the category. Moicano is coming off a frustrating defeat to his compatriot, and former division champion, José Aldo, at UFC Fortaleza, in February this year. At the time, a victory over the 'People's Champion' would put him in a very favorable situation to face the current champion, Max Holloway. However, plans went down the drain after Renato suffered a knockout at the beginning of the second round.

Almost four months after his setback against Manauara, Ultimate selected an old acquaintance of Brazilians as Renato. The Korean CHan Sung Jung was already in the position of challenger for the category belt, when he faced José Aldo in August 2013, and lost by knockout.

Today, 'Zumbi' finds himself in another situation within Ultimate. Coming from a defeat after suffering a spectacular turnaround in his clash against Mexican Yair Rodríguez, the athlete is only in 12th place in the division rankings. The opponent's experience, however, for Moicano, is a favorable point in the fight, which keeps the Brazilian excited.

“I think it will be a great fight, because the 'Korean zombie' always brings good fights to the public”, praised the Brasilia native.

Currently, Moicano, 30 years old, has 16 fights in his professional MMA career. The athlete won 13, was defeated in two and had a draw.

His opponent, aged 32, in turn, has a record of 19 fights, with 14 wins and five losses. Interestingly, Sung had to stay away from fighting for almost four years, between 2013 and 2017, after having to provide military services to his country.
