“My last opponent (Cory Sandhagen) fought four times in one year. He already has another fight scheduled. Sean Shelby (fight promoter) likes him! I've only fought four times since 2016! I need to fight. If you don’t like me, or my style, just release me”, claimed the athlete.

John had his last fight recently. The athlete faced the North American Cory Sandhagen No. UFC Fort Lauderdale, whose main event was the duel between Ronaldo Jacare e Jack hermansson. On that occasion, the bantamweight was defeated by his opponent in a split decision from the judges, in what represented the second clash on the main card of the night.
Lineker debuted for the UFC in 2012 and, despite losing to the American Louis Gaudinot, won the 'Fight of the Night' award. The Brazilian's record, however, is very positive within the organization. After the setback, John played for the company another 15 times, winning on 12 occasions.
Until 2016, the man from Paraná usually had two to three fights per year. However, as of 2017, John's situation really changed. In 2017, 2018 and 2019, the athlete stepped into the Octagon only once a year.
Currently, at 28 years old, John Lineker occupies the 10th position in bantamweights (up to 61,2kg.). In his professional record, the fighter has already performed 36 times, recording 29 wins and seven losses.
