The former Invicta FC champion, Felicia spencer, was challenged by none other than Chris Cyborg after her victory at UFC Rochester, on the 18th. With a good debut in Ultimate, the Canadian was invited to share the octagon with the Brazilian at UFC 240, in Canada. In a recent interview with 'Sherdog.com', however, the athlete commented on the possibility of the fight, but revealed her desire to accept the fight at the end of the year.

“It depends on a few things. It could be the opportunity for some things. But I still haven't thought it through. Probably at the end of the year. I have a lot of things going on right now and I haven't had many conversations with the UFC yet”, commented the fighter.

The challenge was launched by Cyborg on his official Twitter account shortly after Spencer's good victory over, also former Invicta FC champion, Megan anderson. On that occasion, Felicia surprised her opponent and finished the fight with a rear naked choke in the first round. A few hours later, Cris made the publication, which invited the athlete to face her on the UFC 240 card, in Edmonton (Canada).

Since debuting in the UFC in 2016, the company has encountered some difficulties finding opponents worthy of Cyborg, who has remained undefeated for more than 13 years. At the time, Ultimate did not have a female featherweight category (up to 65,7kg), so much so that, in her first two appearances, Cris performed in catchweight duels, both at 63,5kg.

In July 2017, the UFC finally made the featherweight category official and held a title fight between Cyborg and North American Tonya Evinger. As expected, the Curitiba native came out victorious and won the belt, which she defended twice until her fateful meeting with her compatriot Amanda nunes, who shocked the world and defeated the women's MMA legend by knockout in the first round, at UFC232, in December last year.

Since the defeat, Cyborg has been looking for a new opponent to remain active in the organization. Spencer, like the Brazilian, is a former Invicta champion, could be a good fight. The Canadian, however, is studying the possibilities and admits talking to the board about the case.

“I heard about the challenge. I know she has her wishes, but I have to talk to the UFC. We have to see what happens. She made the challenge official, so it's all about what Ultimate wants. I’m aware of how girls are rewarded when they stand up to her,” concluded Felicia.

Currently, Spencer is 28 years old and has an undefeated record of seven fights. Cyborg, on the other hand, is more experienced and, at 33 years old, has already had 23 fights, with 21 wins and just two losses.
