The sadness over the defeat at UFC Rochester, last Saturday (18), seems to have already passed. Antonio Shoe Guy. In an interview with ‘Combate’, the Brazilian criticized the performance of the fight referee, but is already looking at a possible duel against Canadian Elias Theodorou. Shoe Face hasn't played for the UFC since April last year.

“I already asked for a fight. I want to fight in August. I think a fight against Elias Theodorou would be an excellent option. All I want is to get back to training. I'm going to take a few days off, rest, and I'll be right back. Let’s get back to winning, to get that belt”, said the athlete.

Elias is coming off a recent defeat to the North American Derek Brunson, at UFC Ottawa, which took place in April. Currently in 12th position, the Brazilian hopes, if the duel is scheduled, to win again and resume his climb towards the top 5 in the middleweight division (up to 77kg.).

After the fight against Ian, Antônio criticized Todd Anderson, the referee of the fight, claiming to have warned the professional about his opponent before they entered the Octagon. For Shoe Face, Ian grabbed the fence on one occasion and hit a headbutt on another occasion.

“I spoke to the judge before the fight, when he went to the locker room to explain the rules. I went to take the fall, he (Heinisch) held on (to the railing), he didn't fall because of that and then he elbowed me and held onto the railing again”, reported Antônio. “I told the judge that, if that happened, I could change the course of the fight, and he said he would take a point. He held it twice, the judge didn't do anything. That unfocused me a little. He even headbutted me, I complained, and the referee told me to continue”, said the Brazilian.

Before UFC Rochester, Shoe Face, 29 years old, despite being away for more than a year due to injuries, came from five consecutive victories and, increasingly, was gaining ground in the division. The stumble, however, left the Paraiba native out of the top 10.
