Anderson made a point of saying that he will not give up on his future goals. The Brazilian's next steps, however, will depend on a positive finding following the results of tests that will indicate the situation of his knee.

“No giving up or thinking you can’t do it because you lost a battle. There's only one saying: 'I'll go to the end and the more people pressure me, the more I'll want to go to the end. There is no such thing as a savage that feels sorry for itself,” said the fighter. “An old lion surrounded by hungry hyenas eager to devour him and he still fights to the death without ever feeling sorry for himself and it will be no different with me. Strength and honor”, published Silva.

Information on the current physical conditions of the former middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg) should be released in the coming days. If he has, in fact, torn his knee ligaments, Anderson could be out until the end of the year, temporarily compromising the extension of his career.

In 2006, at the age of 31, Anderson became middleweight champion after defeating Rich Franklin by knockout at UFC 64. After the victory, 'Spider' literally dominated the division, defending his title 10 times, until being defeated by the American Chris Weidman, in 2013, seven years after becoming the absolute number one in the division.

Today, at 44, Silva has revealed on several occasions that he intends to fulfill all the fights he has in his contract with the UFC. According to the athlete, there are two or three. Last weekend's incident, however, could cast doubt on the Brazilian legend's commitment and desire.
