The former light heavyweight title challenger (up to 93kg.) Anthony Johnson was arrested last Monday (6) accused of domestic violence. The information was released by 'TMZ Sports' this Tuesday (7). The former fighter confirmed the argument, but revealed that there was no intention to hurt his partner.

According to 'TMZ', the police report states that the woman has no visible physical injuries. However, given the facts, Johnson was detained and taken to the police station to provide clarification.
Anthony's partner stated that she was kicking the former fighter out of the house and packing his belongings when she noticed that the fighter began to become violent. He then grabbed her and carried her to another room in the house. The girlfriend then called the police to report the incident. She stated that she was scared due to her size and martial arts experience.
Johnson, however, said he picked her up and carried her to another room to avoid further fighting.
Violent contact between a man and a woman is seen as physical aggression and is subject to legal punishment. The American will be charged with misdemeanor domestic violence.
Famous for its impressive knockout power, Anthony Johnson, aged 35, was among UFC athletes between 2014 and 2017. In eight fights for the organization, the athlete was defeated on only two occasions; both for Daniel Cormier in contention for the light heavyweight title. In total, 'Rumble' fought on 28 occasions, recording 22 triumphs and six setbacks.
After his last defeat, in 2017, Johnson announced his retirement from MMA and, since then, he has not returned to the fighting world.
