Joachin Hansen: “I’d rather fight for free than sell my soul”

After Fedor's refusal and Josh Barnett's harsh words about the organization's president, Dana White, another fighter turned against the organization. Norwegian Joachin Hansen was finally released from his contract with the Americans, who retained his rights after the purchase of Pride, an organization in which the fighter represented in five events.

Without fighting for the UFC, and currently a Shooto fighter, the lightweight hopes to return to his best form, which gave him great victories, such as those against Brazilian Gesias Cavalcanti (the only defeat in JZ's career) and Japanese star Takanori Gomi.

“I hope people understand that my problems (with Zuffa) were not about money. They did not treat me with honor or keep their word. I'd rather fight for free than bow down to them. My soul is not for sale. Now I'm a free man and I hope everything goes back to the way it was before”, said the former Pride fighter to the website Thefightnetwork
