As soon as the duel ended, the Irishman took to Twitter and responded to an old challenge that Anderson had made to 'Notório'. McGregor made a point of praising the Brazilian's attitude and said that 'it would be an honor' to face Spider.
“Anderson is a cunning martial artist. You only develop these methods through years of experience in difficult fights. Phenomenal performance. The cunning veteran. Great respect always. It would be an honor!”, wrote MCGregor.
The idea of a confrontation between UFC stars came after Conor revealed that a fight with Anderson made sense for his career. Upon hearing McGregor's opinion, Silva declared that it would be an honor to face the Irishman. Despite this, 'Notorious' had not yet commented on the Brazilian's challenge.
The Irishman is coming off a submission defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 in October last year. Conor will be able to return to the octagon from April, when his suspension due to the widespread brawl at the event in Las Vegas is over.
