Alex Cowboy receives 60-day medical suspension after UFC 231 loss

The Brazilian Alex Cowboy will not have good memories of UFC 231, an event held last Saturday (08). After being submitted by Gunnar Nelson, the athlete from Três Rios, in the interior of Rio de Janeiro, received the longest medical suspension among the country's athletes at the show. He will have to stay away from any training for 60 days.

The Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, the entity that sanctioned the event, announced the medical suspensions and Cowboy will need to be away for two months. The Brazilian suffered a deep cut on his forehead and needed 30 stitches.

Protagonist of the main fight of the night, Brian ortega was the one who received the biggest hook. The American, who lost his chance to win the featherweight belt after being defeated by Max Holloway, received a 180-day suspension or until cleared by a doctor.
